Mary Lee Bendall

Mary Lee Bendall, age 82, of Russellville, passed away after a short illness on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at her residence. Mary Lee and her husband, Charles, attended church at Russellville Church of Christ. Their first dates at the King Frosty led them to being married for almost 58 years and sharing a lifetime of memories. They enjoyed traveling to Branson, Missouri to enjoy live music shows as well as concerts and gospel singings. Mary Lee was a meticulous housekeeper and was a wonderful cook. She had a great impact on all the children that came and went from her house during her many years of babysitting. She leaves many wonderful memories that her family and friends will cherish. The visitation will be 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Daniel Parrish and Bro. Tyrus Mansell speaking at the service. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens. The pallbearers will be Jarrod Bendall, Keith Duren, Anthony Dempsey, Greg Bendall, Jay Bendall, TJ LeMay, and Bo LeMay. Luke Dempsey and Gavin McGee will serve as honorary pallbearers. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, John Lee Sparks and Ruby Lee James Sparks; sisters, Rosa Lee Nesbitt, Shirley Butler; and niece, Dana Thomas. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of almost 58 years, Charles Bendall; children, Mia Bendall Dempsey (Anthony), Jarrod Bendall (Sara); grandchildren, Melissa Kennedy, Abbi and Luke Dempsey; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Hudson, and Waylon Kennedy; sisters, Ann Nix, Renea Zills, Gwinda Sparks; nephews & nieces, Tyrus Mansell, Jeania Walter, Tanya Duren, and Gavin McGee. The family would like to extend a sincere, heartfelt thanks to Hospice of North Alabama and especially Greta Boutwell, Michelle Williams, and Lori Knight for providing wonderful care with patience and kindness.
