Billie Jean Rowlett

The love in our world is diminished in the passing of our beloved Mother, Billie Jean Hamilton Rowlett. Billie went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 07, 2009 at the age of 84. The visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, March 11, 2009. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Spry Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Bro. DeWayne Crumley. Interment will be in Franklin Memory Gardens. "Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels; and have not charity (love); I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal." Billie Jean always showed love to those she came in contact both within the family and those she came in contact with in her many travels throughout the world. She was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed with a ready smile. She is preceded in death by her parents, Everett Roy Hamilton & Della Lee Hamilton; and one grandson, Michael Massey. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ray L. Rowlett, of Russellville, Al; her son, Jimmy Rowlett and wife Linda, of Hurst, Texas; and her daughters, Donna Entrekin and husband Billy, of Belgreen, Al and Janet Massey and husband A.C. of North Richland Hills, Texas and one step-son, John Edd Rowlett and wife Patsy, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four brothers, Del Roy Hamilton of Yukon, OK, James Hamilton and wife Colleen of Roswell, New Mexico, Don Hamilton and wife Ernestine of Clovis, New Mexico, Rev. Garland Hamilton and wife Charlene of El Paso, Texas; two sisters, Tina Golightly of Portales, New Mexico and Pauline Heflin and husband Don of Portales, New Mexico. She has 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. We would like to thank the members of North Russellville Baptist Church for their care and concern for Billie and Ray since their move out from New Mexico in 2003. You all have been a great source of strength and encouragement to them. We would also like to thank Russellville Health Care for their excellent care since the last of March 2008 when she suffered her massive stroke. You will always have a special place in our hearts.
